Al-Ahli Sports Club clarifies regarding Julian Draxler and the reason behind leaving the field in the team’s match against Qatar Sports Club in the sixth round of the Qatar Stars League (Expo Stars League 2023-2024) due to injury and no other reason.
Al-Ahli Sports Club management confirmed that Draxler did not start the match due to a muscle injury. Therefore, the coach preferred to be on the reserve bench, in order to protect the player from worsening his injury.
When the player participated in the second half, he performed exceptionally well and helped the team by scoring two goals in the match.
In the 87th minute, the player told the coach and the team doctor that he felt muscle pain and would not be able to complete the match.
The coach and doctor allowed him to leave the field.
The team at that time had completed the 3 permitted substitution interruptions in the match, so the team had no other choice than completing the match with only ten players.
Al-Ahli Club confirms that Draxler is one of the best players in terms of discipline, commitment, and respect for the club.
